Travel

BY AIR   is the most popular means of travel nowadays and it is possible to fly into Nice, Marseilles or Nimes, Nice being the easiest point of access. Most airlines come to Nice and it is particularly well serviced by budget airlines from all major UK airports (see links)

BY RAIL  We are fortunate to be within 15 minutes of one of the TGV stops on the Paris to Monaco line . The TGV is Frances high speed rail link and by connecting with the Eurostar in London it is possible to be down here in under 8 hours. ( see links )

BY CAR If you prefer to drive yourself, nearly the whole journey is on the Autoroute. After crossing by ferry or Eurotunnel, it takes about 12 hours non stop, but most people who choose to drive make the journey part of the holiday and allow 2 days to get here, often taking the scenic route through the foothills of the Alps via Digne and Sisteron.

CAR RENTAL Though a car is not essential, it obviously makes Provence more accessible and it is possible to rent a car in Lorgues for one or several days. Please ask for details. There are of course many car rental firms at Nice airport and as with most things, it pays to "shop around".
